Barrel Room of Laughs

From the Underground Venues press room:

The 30th Buxton Fringe has attracted a truly bumper collection of the hottest comedy talent from across the world and Buxton audiences will have the chance to see many acts for the first time – before they head up to the Edinburgh Fringe.

There’s a few faces and names that people may recognise. Barbara Nice – from Peter Kay’s Phoenix Nights – will be attempting to rekindle the rapidly disappearing sense of community with her five-star show ‘Hiya And Higher’. James Sherwood (of Radio 4’s ‘The Now Show’ and The News Quiz) and Andrew O’Neil (from Radio 1’s ‘The Milk Run’ and Steve Coogan’s ‘Saxondale’) will both be presenting a new set of stand-up. As if this wasn’t enough, the High Peak’s MP himself – Tom Levitt – will be appearing in the all-new ‘No End Of An Ass’ – comic, musical journey through Alan Bennet, Al Read and Jake Thackray.

For those who prefer something a little different, there’s three nights of award-winning improvised comedy from The Shrimps, anarchic sketch comedy from last-year’s Best Comedy winners Clever Peter and Buxton favourite Tam Hinton with a new critically acclaimed show.

If you want to start the summer with a laugh, you can catch Edinburgh-bound stand-up, as well as a host of other comedy, every night of the Fringe at Underground Venues. It all starts at 7pm – and keeps going to midnight! Look out for deals across the town and at the venue – or come and see a collection of the best in one show, every Friday night.
